Do I need a Schengen visa?

How does port clearance work?

The captain handles it. You present passports to Turkish customs on departure (Marmaris) and Greek port police on arrival (Symi or Rhodes). About 1 hour each end.

How does this differ from the Bodrum → Kos crossing?

Marmaris-Rhodes substitutes Rhodes Old Town for Kos Asclepion — a much bigger and better-preserved historic site, plus a longer stay on Symi. Slightly longer sailing legs.

Is Rhodes Mandraki the right harbour to moor in?

Yes for the Old Town walk — Mandraki is the medieval port directly outside the walls. The newer commercial port is for ferries only.

Are Greek port fees included?
